Greatest Bang-For-The-Buck Vehicles From $10,000 To $15,000

If you're going to get a brand new car but don't want one that eats a lot of gas or would cost a lot for repairs, you should think about a car that costs between $10,000 to $15,000. These kinds of cars should have four or five doors and it need not be a full scale sedan.

It's also recommended that you get a car that runs on gas. Most likely the leading gas powered car in terms of fuel efficiency is Toyota's Yaris. But if you prefer diesel engines, there are a number of diesel-fueled cars as well.

If you are able to afford a new car, you can get a brand new Corsa, Astra, Opel or Renault Clio between the price range of 8,000 to 10,000 Euros. For this budget range, you can also get a pretty decent second-hand car that has 60,000 to 140,000 kilometers on it.

When you can spend $12,000 or more to get a car, you could get a well outfitted Mazda 6, Opel Astra or a Hyundai Accent. You may even get lucky and discover a Yaris for that cost as well. It is also likely to locate older BMWs at that price but bear in mind that they eat a lot of gas.

Should your price range easily exceeds $13,000, you can probably consider getting a new car instead of a used one. A particular automobile to consider at this pricing is the Mitsubishi Colt but it does have a noisy interior. And don't forget, the Colt won't have a good resale value even with its decent quality.

Another decent car, even though a tad small, is the Suzuki Swift. You can find enough room for the driver but for the other parts of the car, it's a bit cramped. The model with the 1.25 engine saves on gas but it is not a particularly good drive, which may not be worth it for the price.

Another car that has good optional features and a decent warranty is the Hyundai Accent 1.5. Hyundai has a very solid five year warranty or 100,000 kilometers plus they are known for quality service.

One other good car manufacturer is Skoda and they've got the new Fabia with 68 HP engine. The only negative is the servicing on the car is not considered very good and it may have some reliability issues.

The Renault Clio is another car to consider with its 65 horsepower 1.5 liter engine and enough room for a tall person. It's got decent mileage at 5.4 liters per 100km in the city also it consumes just 3.8 liters on the highway. Of course, you cannot expect a car to be both high performing but fuel efficient. However, a number of these more compact cars can hit 120 km/h without collapsing under the strain. At greater speeds, the cars may consume more gas at 4 liters per kilometer but won't go higher than 7 or 8. Watch hyundai extended car warranty.
